She told her husband she was driving to the local grocery store the previous morning and hadn’t been seen since. More than 3,300 alert calls were placed to the area surrounding the 3000 block of Southeast Cook Road in Maysville, where she had last been seen. In response, the Sheriff's Office received a call from a resident who saw the woman near his residence the previous evening. The Sheriff's Office was then able to focus their search near the caller's residence. A highway patrol plane spotted her vehicle off the roadway a quarter mile from the caller’s residence in a field. Due to her dementia, the woman became confused while driving, and drove over a timberline. Her vehicle became stuck, and she sat, for nearly a day, without going for help.
